I just wanted to share an experience I had with what seemed a "conflicting" post on Facebook and how I chose not to push the "delete" button and try to conquer for a positive outcome.
Over a Monday I had a post for DiDonnas regarding our .25 cent chicken wing Monday's. I had several friends post they like the wings etc. but what was frustrating was someone actually posted he was going to a further restaurant, Glens Falls, for .05 cent chicken wings! What to do? Hit delete?
I decided not to, replied he would spend more in gas. He replied he drives a Prius. Ugh! Now what to do? Well I replied I was posting my offer in hopes to have locals support their local restaurants. I was pleased he replied...maybe he would stop in then and try our .25 cent wings.
Well we were pretty busy that Monday and with in I would say 2 hours we served 190 wings! I was the only waitress and Tony working the fryer, lol! Anyhow, wasn't it a wonderful surprise to hop on Facebook the next morning to see a notification from that individual and here is what he said, "Review: Wings were very large. ordered hot wings, which were pleasingly hot. Not too weak and not too hot. The restaurant is clean, love the Ball Jar glasses, and they seem to have a good business plan. Good business plan meaning; paying attention to detail, not trying to do too much too fast, and great service. Sat next to some lady who thinks she is going to be a millionaire off of her boyfriend that seems to be some "human freak show", that was interesting. So I supported a local restaurant, I don't do chains!!!! 40 wings and 3 diet cokes later, I left for home pleased and full."
I had no idea he had even come in and that was a wonderful surprise! So I guess trying to work the negative pays off, we had a new customer and I have one more "real" friend from a "virtual"!
